Pelayo's is in a huge new shopping center in Fairfield (5055 Business Center Drive), which gives it a huge demerit in the funky coolness department. But although the carne asada burrito is pretty average, the sauces on the do-it-yourself salsa bar are interesting and, in at least one case, tasty. The regular burrito comes with melted cheese on the outside, which means you can give up any idea of eating it with your hands. The carne asada was tender, but on a scale of foul to groans-of-pleasure, probably only ranked an average. To-go damage was $7.92, including horchata.
