Burritoville

The Netscape-friendly hunt for the perfect urban food log.

How low would you go to eat a burrito? I just learned that the Chipotle chain is owned by (shudder) McDonald's. In all fairness, there are substantial differences in the corporate philosophies: At Chipotle, they pride themselves on starting with fresh ingredients. Still, I have to agree with the Cleveland Citysearch site that called it "...the Earthlink equivalent of Mexican food." The rice is flavored only with cilantro, giving it a weird sort of Thai taste. (Real Mexican rice has annatto on it, and should be flecked with tomato.) The grilled chicken was good, not jerky-like, and had a little spicy heat to it. But overall, I'd give it a B-. (Still better than High Tech!)
