So good, I might have to shoot the cook

I finally caught "Once Upon A Time in Mexico" on DVD. The movie was a little over the top, but among the extra features was a 10-minute cooking lesson from director Robert Rodriguez. He shows you how to make puerco pibil, a slow-roasted pork marinated in a sauce that includes cinnamon, cloves, orange juice and habanero peppers. I think this may be a relative of the sauce used at Alejandro's in Vacaville. In any case, the film was on my mind when I hit the Taqueria Pastor in Escalon this weekend. I ordered the roast pork burrito. Pibil? Hard to tell, but the pork was tender and spicy enough to set your fillings buzzing. This might be my favorite burrito from Pastor, much more distinctive and delicious than their Chile Verde.
